A century ago Tulsa’s business community saw the need and stepped up to build a National Guard Armory located at 1109 E. 6th St. A first-class facility was constructed at a cost of $50,000 and ready for use on July 1, 1920.
The Armory served the Oklahoma National Guard through the 1920’s and most of the 1930’s. After WWII the Old Armory started a new chapter of service. In 1946 the property was acquired by Tulsa's Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Since that time, the VFW Post 577 has served as a sanctuary for Veterans to reconnect with the community. Generations of Veterans and their families have passed through its doors. Visit our Facebook page for more photos!

Born and raised in Tulsa, this okie showgirl has been entertaining audiences for over a century (in dog years)!
She has had her dainty, raccoon-like hands in the burlesque community as a costumer, choreographer, makeup artist, and performer. While abed with COVID in 2021, she had a vision and was fortunate to have 2 friends willing to pitch in to a really crazy idea. Thus, in 2022 the Tulsa Burlesque Festival was born. 2023 saw the launch of the Tulsa Tassel Coalition, a 501c3 organization meant to benefit alternative performance art and artists in the Oklahoma region.
First seen in our orbit in 2016, Roxy Rockette has been abducting hearts ever since. She is the producer of The Pearl District Peepshow in Tulsa, Ok! Mixing classic burlesque with high-octane rock n roll, she's sure to make your cosmos quiver!
